It's the last day of my new beauty routine posts. It's been so fun talking about all my new additions to my routine and I've loved talking to you all on Twitter about your opinions on the subject. Today is my favorite day and definitely going to be the longest because I am always on the look out for a new makeup to try. Before I get started, I want to know more about your all time favorite beauty products or some new ones I'm missing out on! Tell me in the comments or tweet me (@lindseybell)! Alright, let's get started!
Get It: Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation - Cream Ivory, $47
I spoke yesterday about how I mix my moisturizer with this foundation to create more or less coverage depending on my skintone at the time. It also makes this little tube of foundation last FOREVER. I've had my current one for over a year now. I bought a new one months ago thinking I was bound to run out any day and it just hasn't happened. That's when you know it's worth it to splurge a little. If I had stuck with my old Neutrogena foundation, I would have paid less ($15ish), but probably easily gone through 4 bottles in the last year. So technically I saved money. More upfront, less over the long run. I use the color Sand Beige.
Get It: BOBBI BROWN Creamy Concealer BEIGE, $23
I'm kind of meh about using concealer. I have dark circles, but I also am developing fine lines from smiling so hard. Not the worst reason I guess. I don't always wear it, but when I am feeling super worn out, I'll slide some of this on. It doesn't settle into my little eye wrinkles and brightens up well. Good stuff.
Get it: Smashbox Cosmetics Smashbox Cosmetics Step-By-Step Contour Kit, $62
This, of everything I have added to my daily routine, has been the most significant to my overall look. Kim Kardashian is the queen of contour and has built an entire beauty movement based entirely on accentuating your positives and camouflaging your negatives. So, I wanted to be able to do that too. It just takes a little bit of knowledge and practice to learn how to contour. I watched a ton of YouTube vids on it, checked out Pinterest and followed the pointers included with the compact. You don't have to be a makeup artist to pull off the look. Such an easy all in one compact.
Get it: Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil - Blonde, $23
Filling in my brows is relatively new to my routine. I've been through a couple of brow pencils and this one definitely looks the most natural. Your brows frame your eyes and I feel like finish your whole look.
Get It: L'Oreal Paris Pencil Perfect Self-Advancing Eyeliner, Carbon Black, 0.01 Ounces, $6.99
I feel like eyeliner is the first thing you start experimenting with when you first start wearing makeup. Sometimes you can go your whole life using the same kind (my mom's been using Clinique since forever). But seriously, it's worth a shot to check this one out. I usually layer my smudgeable eye pencil with a liquid liner that stays all day, but I could wear this one a little smokier and by itself. And you can't beat the price.
Get It: L'Oreal Paris Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner, Carbon Black, 0.05 Ounces, $6.99
I say step out and try new things, but alas, I've been wearing this liquid liner on and off since I first started wearing winged eyeliner while dancing in the ballet in 2nd grade. This is one of those suggestions that aren't because it's new to my beauty routine, it's because if it isn't new to yours, it should be. It's seven dang dollars. I can't justify spending more money on something that has never, ever done me wrong at the lower pricepoint. Liquid liner can be scary, but I just got my mom to changeover recently. It's just so sexy to rock a little winged eye every once in a while, or in my case, every damn day.
Get It: Naked Basics Eyeshadow Makeup Palette, $45
The Naked palettes are amazing, however, I am not a huge eyeliner person. I like using neutrals here and there and adding a little color here and there. I still wanted to get in on the fun though! So, I got one of the basics palettes. I feel like this is my go-to over all of the other shadows I am carrying around. It complements my current makeup trends really well. Sometimes less is more in a palette ya know?
Get It: Too Faced Cosmetics, Shadow Insurance, 0.35 Ounce, $12
Speaking of eyeshadow, have trouble making it last all night? This stuff legit works.
Get It: Yves Saint Laurent 'Rouge Pur Couture' Lip ColorNet Wt. 0.13 Oz., $52.99
I KNOW! I know. I can't believe how much I paid for this either. Basically an arm and a leg. BUT. It's the best, best, best lipstick ever. I have tried so many reds trying to get one that works for me that doesn't make me feel yucky. This one smells like lavender, stay on all night, looks creamy on my lips and makes me feel like a movie star. It's single handed most noticeable thing I add to my face for a night out and my hands down favorite. I love my Marilyn Monroe lips!
Makeup should be fun and I have had a blast trying out some new things recently. I'll keep updating you guys on anything new I find! Don't forget to write me some suggestions of things to try!
Much Love, Lindsey
